With the December 2024 Feature Drop, Google announced that Pixel Studio was getting Gboard integration, but version 1.4 is a bigger update than that with the ability to directly generate stickers.
After updating to version 1.4, Gboard’s Stickers picker will show a new Pixel Studio top tab. Tap “Add” or find it again in the ‘plus’ menu next to search.
Meanwhile, open “My projects” (top-left corner) in the Pixel Studio app for a new “Stickers” tab (and switcher UI) at the bottom. This shows the default set and any you’ve created with the ability to delete. This is a more dedicated view than was available in the past.
Of note is the “Create a sticker” button as the first item in the grid. You can “Make one from existing photo” like before, or “Describe your sticker.” This takes you to the prompt UI that was previously reserved for full images.
Finally, Google has introduced new “Style suggestions” when creating an image, though this might have been a server-side update as we’re already seeing them on version 1.3. The full list is as follows: Freestyle, 3D Cartoon, Video Game, Cinematic, Sketch, Anime, Sticker Art, Claymation, Crochet, Watercolor, Construction Paper, Vector, Art, and Patches.

- Send Pixel Studio stickers in any messaging app from Gboard, your Google Keyboard.
- Create new stickers in your ‘My Projects’ library, in the new ‘Stickers’ tab, or from your sticker library while you’re editing.
- Use new styles for your creations: We’ve added new fun styles to Pixel Studio, so making expressive creations has gotten even easier. Or, use your own style with your written description.
