Google Maps for iPhone can now scan your screenshots to save places

After announcing in March, Google Maps has rolled out a feature that can scan screenshots on your iPhone and save any found locations.

With this Gemini-powered capability, Google wants to streamline how people screenshot places they find on the web, social media, etc. Instead of users having to manually return to their gallery, remember the name, and then open Maps to search for the location, Maps will automatically identify those places and save them to a list.

Make sure you’re using the latest version of Google Maps and go to the “You” tab. “Screenshots” will appear as a new private list, with a fun demo tutorial playing.
