Moto Tag app update to install UWB firmware widely rolling out

Google announced with the Find Hub rebrand that the Moto Tag would start getting the UWB (ultra-wideband) nearby finding update in May. The actual rollout started a month later, with wide availability now here.

Motorola ties new tracker firmware with updates to the Android companion app. Today’s Google Play Store update takes you to version 01.00.073.14 of the companion app. After installing, you’re prompted about how it’s “Time to update your Moto Tag software.”

You go from Moto Tag firmware 2.0.69 to 2.0.104 with two items in the update changelog: “UWB update” and “Battery monitoring improvement.”
