Pebblebee’s new Android Find Hub trackers add limited-time colors, wireless charging

Pebblebee is updating its lineup of trackers for Android Find Hub and Apple’s Find My with better hardware, new limited-time colors, and wireless charging too.

Following its “Universal” debut last year which offered support for both Android and Apple finder networks, Pebblebee is now launching its “Gen 5” update. This new hardware series includes updates to both the Clip and Card devices.

Starting with the Pebblebee introduced Link earlier this year.

The big addition to the Pebblebee Card 5, though, is wireless charging. Instead of using a proprietary charging cable, the tracker can be topped off using an Qi charger. It retains 18-month battery life despite the thinner design and added wireless charging hardware. For anyone who’s had to keep track of Pebblebee’s charging cable, this is great news.

Then, there’s Pebblebee Clip 5.

This tracker is more akin to an AirTag, but with a built-in loop for attaching a clip. Like the prior generation, it features USB-C charging with 12-month battery life, but this time has a brighter LED strip, a louder alert buzzer, and a slightly updated hardware design. It also features a Link QR code on the back, just like the new Card.

The other big addition this time around is color. “Graphite” is the stock color, replacing black, but Pebblebee’s “Evercolor” effort will add two more colors that rotate out every three months. The first two colors are Emerald Storm (green) and Amethyst Purple. The “Gemfire” drop will be available for the new few months, with a new set coming around February per Pebblebee’s schedule. These colors are limited-time only and previously-released styles won’t come back.

With the Gen 5 update, Pebblebee appears to be stepping away from its “Tag” form factor. We’ll update this post if the tracker is dropped from sale or if Pebblebee offers any further clarification.

Neither device has UWB, rather still relying exclusively on Bluetooth for tracking. Pebblebee does tout a 500-ft range, though.

The new Pebblebee Clip 5 and Card 5 are both available starting today for $34.99 each.
