Following yesterday’s release of macOS Tahoe 26.1 developer beta 3, Apple has just released the equivalent public beta. Here’s what to expect from macOS Tahoe 26.1.
Apple seems to have set macOS Tahoe 26.1 aside to lay the groundwork for interesting AI-related updates, including beyond ChatGPT.
The developer beta that Apple released yesterday also brought the new, colorful Apple TV logo, a new version of the second-generation Apple Pro Display XDR.
In addition to that, the update includes the customary bug fixes and performance improvements. The build rolling out right now is 25B5062e, which is the same as yesterday’s developer beta.
How to install macOS Tahoe 26.1 public beta 3
To install, the first thing you have to do is enroll in Apple’s public beta program at https://beta.apple.com/. Once you’re done, here’s the step-by-step:
- Open System Settings
- Go to General ⇾ Software Update
- Click the ‘i’ icon next to Beta Updates
- From the dropdown menu in the top-right, select the macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta
- Hit ‘Done’
