I recently switched to an iPhone 13 and the iOS version in Settings is 18.3.2. According to Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in Asia-Pacific, my carrier is listed there too (in Vietnam). Previously I was using an Android and could send RCS just fine.

I have followed this guide Turn on RCS messaging on your iPhone but in the Settings, RCS Messaging is not there.

Did I miss anything?

Update: when I use the Settings' Search feature, the option even shows up but when I tap it, it brings me to the Messages' app setting but there is still no such option.

I'm looking at the Apple Support page you linked to that shows features supported by Asian carriers. I see three carriers listed under Vietnam, and none of them supports RCS. Are you seeing a different version of that page?

  • @LincDavis oh you are right! That link was from the RCS page so I thought it was list of supported RCS carrier. Sorry I was mistaken.

As of now, none of the three cellular carriers in Vietnam supports RCS messaging on iPhones. See the Apple Support document linked in the question.

  • definitely on iPhones, because RCS works on several Vietnamese operators on Android without problem

  • @phuclv: From what I recall, Android for a while used (probably still uses) Google-hosted RCS if the carrier had no support.
