I too grew up listening to KDFC on the radio, at home & in the car. I always appreciated that they play complete pieces all the way through (all movements), without talking over any of it, but including as “bookends” informative historical tidbits about the composer, the piece, and/or the performers. Also always clearly identified the performing group, conductor, composer, & year of composition, which greatly increased my knowledge about “classical” music. It’s nice in this age of AI and autoplay, when music format stations of any genre are rare & super-automated, to listen (even on the internet!) to a station that still respects the input of “DJs” and the relationship of listeners to human music curators, even if they’re no longer sitting in a studio putting the records on turntables (I think). I wish I could afford to donate, but I’m on a fixed income & have a lot of survival expenses to cover just now, so I’m grateful to those who do donate & make this possible. So I’m giving them this 5-star review instead.
