Davidson added of Michaels, “I owe that guy my life. He jump-started everything. So I’d do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.”
Following an eight-season run, Davidson SNL is my home” in a statement, adding: “I’m so happy and sad about tonight’s show. For so many reasons I can’t explain.”
In December, Davidson explained that he “got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel” before his exit and that he’s “very happy where I am right now, mentally.”
Davidson returned to SNL to make his hosting debut in 2023, last appearing on the SNL50: The Anniversary Special in February.
