A new season of Selling The OC, means new faces in and out of the office.
Season 4 of the hit real estate reality series welcomed realtor agents Kaylee Ricciardi, Fiona Belle, and Ashtyn Zerboni to the O Group’s Newport Beach office. But outside of Selling The OC‘s professional sphere, we also met Alex Hall’s new man, Ian.
Selling The OC fans know that the show’s most compelling romantic connection was between Alex Hall and former Oppenheim Group colleague/friend Tyler Stanaland. After the two finally gave a relationship a shot, they had a dramatic falling out and both moved on to new relationships. During Season 3, Alex opened up about dating a London-based “Global Marketing Director” at TikTok, but the two ultimately stopped seeing each other. In Season 4, though Alex and Tyler have an emotional reunion, she’s dating a guy named Ian. And the season shows Alex and her new man getting serious — like, prepping to move in together and talking about an engagement serious!
So who is Alex Hall’s boyfriend, Ian Young? Are Alex and Ian still together after Selling The OC Season 4? What happened between Alex Hall and Tyler Stanaland? And who is Tyler Stanaland’s new fiancé? We’ve got answers! Here’s what to know about Ian on Selling The OC Season 4, his relationship with Alex Hall, and how Tyler fits into the picture.
Who Is Ian On Selling The OC Season 4? Everything To Know About Alex Hall’s Boyfriend
In Alex’s own words, “I met Ian maybe four years ago. My mom had dated Ian’s dad in the past, and I had never met Ian. And my mom always said, ‘You should meet him, he’s so great.’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t care.’ And then one night we met at dinner, and very quickly there was a spark. We kind of did this thing, like, ‘Let’s just not take it seriously. Let’s just have fun.’ And then we very quickly realized we can’t do that. So we’re like, ‘Let’s pump the brakes!’ [After] Tyler, we came back around, and we’ve been navigating. But I think we’re in a very strong place, and I’m very very happy.”
While the show doesn’t reveal Ian’s age, Alex does reveal that he’s a corporate private pilot who flies private jets. “We go all the time. It’s definitely a perk of having a boyfriend who is a private pilot,” she said, adding, “We’ve not done the Mile High Club. He’s asked. He’s begged. Show me a ring and then we’ll talk.”
Selling The OC fans got to know Ian more during Episode 4, when he joined Alex and the O Group agents on Gio’s Palm Springs getaway. While chatting with Polly about his intentions with Alex, Ian said, “I just hope she’s as committed as I am. My intentions are to love her and be the best person I can be for her. I want babies. I want a family. I want a life.” He also teased that the two were “working on” getting engaged. But clearly, before they could take their relationship to the next step, Alex and Tyler had to get some closure.

Ian got very drunk during his Selling The OC screen time, and told Tyler, “We may have loved the same girl, and that’s what it is. And honestly, for you guys to have had something and shared something, I have to respect it. I can’t live in the past. I’m just saying, I want you to look at her and say, ‘Hey, I’m fucking sorry, and I wish you the absolute best.’ I would just rather her have her Ps and Qs dotted and I’d. If she doesn’t, I’m the one at the end getting played.” YIKES!
We’ll give some updates on Tyler and Alex’s relationship in a bit, but on Night 2 of the group trip, Alex had to put Ian to bed early because he was wasted and annoying everyone at dinner.
“Ian is a bit belligerent and he’s saying a lot of outlandish things. I’d like to turn him down or off,” Ashtyn said. “I should have asked him to leave. He bulldozed every freaking conversation. We couldn’t get a word in edgewise,” Gio added.
The next morning, Gio’s wife expressed her frustration over Ian, too, saying, “He’s just annoying. Like, he’s obnoxious. I think he has a big personality. He’s a fun guy, but I’m sitting there last night, and I’m looking across and I see Tyler. And I’m like, ‘She was interested in him and now she goes to?'” Gio called Ian “quite the downgrade” and said Alex was “lowering the bar way too far.”
Despite the harsh opinions, before the season wrapped, Ian and Alex bought a house together in Temecula, an hour away from Orange County, and hosted a celebratory dinner with friends ahead of the big move. So are Alex and Ian still together today?
Are Alex Hall And Ian Still Together After Selling The OC Season 4?
Before Selling The OC Season 4 ended, Alex and Ian packed up her house together and had an interesting conversation…
“Do you want to kill me yet?” Alex asked. “My patience button is getting pushed in, but we’ll get there, slowly but surely. Surely slow,” Ian replied before jokingly suggesting they get married to add more stress to their lives.
During a confessional, Alex admitted, “My biggest fear is getting remarried, having more kids, and having it end the way it ended for me the first time I did it. The idea of marriage isn’t necessarily what is so scary to me. It’s creating another family with somebody, and I wanna make sure it’s with the right person, because getting a divorce is not an option for me. I’m not doing that again.” She also voiced concerns to Ian, saying, “I want to make sure we’re being logical and making the right decision to move.” Ian said they should go for it, and when she joked, “You’re gonna get sick of me,” he said they’d take it day by day.
