DJI’s Osmo 360 now available on US Amazon

Earlier this month, Osmo 360 camera. The kicker was that if you lived in the U.S., DJI wasn’t selling them directly, and most third-party stores also couldn’t get them. That may have changed, although in the most unlikely way, with the camera now being listed on DJI’s Amazon store page.

The newest 360 camera to enter the market, the Osmo 360, is a real competitor to Insta360’s dominance in the market. Matching the same price point and similar specs, the camera could actually shake up the industry, potentially leading to new innovations and lower prices for consumers.

That would be true if DJI didn’t have a slow and unreliable launch of the product in the US. While the company didn’t state specifically that the camera would not be available in the US, saying that it was only not available at launch, it still left potential consumers confused as to whether it was ever coming.

Lo and behold, it’s here, although still confusing because DJI’s online store still shows “Out of Stock” but not DJI’s Amazon store.

DJI has officially begun selling both the Osmo 360 Standard Combo for $699.99 on Amazon.

The leading theory for why DJI’s products have had issues launching right away in the US has been US tariffs towards Chinese-made products. DJI is not a small company, likely leading to lower margins compared to the smaller Insta360. Also, DJI has to remain price competitive with Insta360, so raising prices is just not an option.

There’s no knowing how much stock of the Osmo 360 DJI has available through Amazon, so you may want to order it now just in case it is low and then never returns.
