The European Union and Japan represent two of the most sophisticated and influential ecosystems in global animation. The World Expo 2025 in Osaka provided the perfect setting for the first EU–Japan Animation Business Workshop.
The European Union (EU) participated in the Ukraine Mine Action Conference (UMAC) 2025 that was held in Tokyo, Japan on 22-23 October 2025. Peter M. Wagner, Head of the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, attended on behalf of EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.
Funded by the European Union and the Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture), SEEEU 2025 – European Photography Month will take place from 23 October to 23 November 2025 across various indoor and outdoor venues in Tokyo, including Minato, Shibuya, Setagaya, Meguro, and Shinjuku wards.
In 2025, the world’s gaze turned to Osaka. Japan’s World Expo transformed the city into a grand stage where nations and people exchanged ideas, projects and visions of the future.
