Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo shares honest thoughts on retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo fans, don't worry — the legendary footballer has no plans to retire just yet. The Al Nassr star wants to keep playing for a few more years before finally hanging up his boots.

While the five-time Ballon d'Or winner acknowledges that his playing days are numbered, he's focused on the present, motivated, and fully enjoying the games.

Ahead of Portugal's upcoming World Cup qualifying matches in Europe, CR7 was honoured with the Globe Prestige Award at the Portugal Football Globes ceremony. When asked about his future, Ronaldo said, "I want to keep playing for a few more years, not many... I've to be honest. I want to thank all my teammates for everything I've learned from them and from this young generation. We want World Cup 2026 qualification."

He added, "I'm still producing good things, helping my club and the National Team. Why not continue? I'm sure when I retire, I'll leave ...fulfilled because I gave everything. Right now, I'm enjoying the moment. I know I don't have many years left to play, but the little time I do have, I have to enjoy it to the fullest."

About the upcoming matches: Portugal will play against Ireland on October 11, and Hungary on October 14; both matches will be played at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisboa, Portugal.

Ronaldo's Al Nassr journey: CR7 joined the Saudi Arabian club in 2023 after the termination of his deal with Manchester United. Earlier this year, he extended his contract with the club until 2027, signaling his intent to stay competitive for as long as possible.
