Huge alligator spotted swimming in SEA A huge alligator has been spotted swimming in the SEA. The 10 ft long beast was seen paddling towards a beach. Nick Serrano was looking for migrating sharks when he spotted it. It was filmed off the shore of Palm Coast, Florida, USA on 17 December. American alligators live in freshwater and are rarely seen in salt water. Nick told Jam Press: ???My girlfriend and I went to our local beach to capture some footage of the blacktip (shark) migration. ???What we found instead was an eight to 10-foot American alligator cruising the surf. ???I???ve lived along Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches for 18 years and have never seen an alligator break the inlet. ???I???ve heard stories of possible sightings in the past, but none have been captured on video to my knowledge.??? He added: ???A once-in-a-lifetime experience I???ll be sure to remember.??? Nick, head of Altitude Film & Photo, added that he never saw the alligator ???touch the beach, but watched it swim through the shore break.??? He also said: ???The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was called, but I???m not sure if anything came of it.??? According to the FWC, alligators can ride the surf and tolerate saltwater for short periods of time. However, it is not their preferred habitat and they are usually found in slow-moving rivers, freshwater lakes, brackish water, and wetlands. Nick said he filmed the clip with a DJI Air 2S drone. One social media user said: ???This is insane.??? A second added: ???This is so incredible. Such a great experience for you two.??? Another said: ???Omg this is Jupiter inlet? Yikes. We go to the mangroves on the other side.??? ???Incredible on many levels.??? remarked someone else. Another user commented: ???For anyone worried, Gators have always swam happily in oceans. ???
