Push and Shove (Deluxe Version)

Push and Shove (Deluxe Version)

Amidst all the angst and brooding of commercial alt-rock radio in the '90s, No Doubt seemed like something from a different era. They grew up in the fertile ska/punk scene in Southern California and drew from an entirely different list of musical influences that resulted in creating a hyper-colorful, party-starting sound. With Push and Shove, their first album together after a 10 year hiatus, there is no desire to recreate any of their old ways. They just want to move forward. Sure, you can hear bits of their new wave love on songs like "Gravity" and a touch of ska rhythm underneath the title track. But this is an album saturated with synths, beats, tempo-changes, dub-style experiments and Gwen Stefani's bright vocals. This is not quite the DayGlo pop dissertation that Stefani's solo albums have been, but you'd be a hard-pressed to find another pop album in 2012 as ambitious and colorful as this. This Deluxe Version contains four bonus tracks.
