As a member of the Team Eastside crew, rapper Peezy has established himself as a revered figure in the Detroit hip-hop scene. • Peezy released the mixtape Ballin Aint a Crime in early 2017, months after he was arrested on racketeering conspiracy charges. • In all, Peezy dropped four full-length projects in 2017, including People’s Champ, Winter Grind, and Ghetto Wave. • In 2018, Peezy teamed up with fellow Motor City rhymers Tee Grizzley and Payroll Giovanni for the single “2 Quick”. • In response to the popularity of his 2018 mixtape No Hooks, Peezy served up a sequel the following year, featuring Payroll Giovanni, Roley Gang Blue, and Lil Perry. • Peezy linked up with Payroll Giovanni again for the collaborative 2020 project Ghetto Rich N****z, recorded shortly before Peezy turned himself in to authorities in August 2019 to begin an 18-month prison sentence.
