Nelly Furtado took a huge leap between her 2000 hippie-pop debut, “I’m Like a Bird,” and 2006’s frisky, Timbaland-featuring “Promiscuous.” But in between, she’s shown even greater range. “Hey, Man!” lets her soulful pipes slither around the strings of a Kronos Quartet sample, while the funky “Parking Lot” reveals her deep sense of rhythm. The Portuguese-Canadian singer even offers her finest flirtations in Spanish with 2009’s “Más.”
