ALL EYES ON PETE’S OPEN

PETE Sampras wasn’t the only winner in Wednesday night’s U.S. Open showdown with Andre Agassi.

The see-saw match was the most-watched tennis telecast in cable TV history, according to USA Networks. An estimated 3.4 million people saw all or part of the quarter-final.

That beats the previous cable TV record set during the 1991 Open when Jimmy Connors beat Aaron Krickstein.
