A cruel-hearted woman walked into a Suffolk County pharmacy and stole a donation jar filled with small contributions for a local boy with an incurable disease.
The bandit, captured on camera Tuesday night, used a newspaper to conceal the charity jar while the clerk wasn’t looking.
The child, 8-year-old Joseph Colascione Jr., suffers from sarcoidosis. His dad put donation jars in several area stores, hoping to defray some of the medical costs.
The thief is white, 20 to 25, 5-foot-4, with a heavy build and light brown, shoulder-length hair. In the surveillance photo, she is wearing a light-blue T-shirt, light-colored cropped pants and sunglasses. She was carrying a large black handbag.
Anyone interested in making a donation to the family should send it to 143 Lynbrook Drive, Mastic Beach, NY 11951.
