The Bronx Zoo has an adorable new resident – a gorilla born Jan. 11.
Workers still don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl because its mom will be clutching it close for the first few months.
And the bug-eyed baby still doesn’t have a name, said zoo spokeswoman Alison Reiser.
The lovable infant, who weighs just a few pounds, will be nursed by mom Triska for four years before switching to a vegetarian diet of yams and bananas.
The little one brings the number of gorillas at the zoo to 26.
Triska, an excellent mom, has given birth to several offspring.
The proud papa is a silverback named Fubo.
The tiny baby eventually will be part of the zoo’s 6 1/2-acre Congo Gorilla Forest exhibit.
The primates can live up to 50 years and grow to almost 400 pounds.
Although they look fierce, the zoo’s lowland gorillas are known as gentle and family-oriented.
