A Long Island man attacked another man’s car with a baseball bat in a fast-food parking lot, police said.
Nassau Police Sgt. Anthony Repalone said suspect Naveed Kahn, 22, of East Patchogue, cut off a 33-year-old driver in the parking lot of a Burger King in Hicksville at 5:15 p.m. Monday.
“The victim made an innocuous hand gesture, like, ‘What’s your problem?’ and Kahn got out of his car with a baseball bat,” Repalone said.
Kahn allegedly menaced the victim with the bat and then banged it on the hood of the man’s 1995 Chrysler, causing $500 worth of damage. Kahn then fled in his 1999 Audi, Repalone said.
The victim called police and officers later spotted Kahn eating in a nearby Red Lobster restaurant.
He was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and menacing and released on a desk-appearance ticket.
Officers recovered a baseball bat from Kahn’s car. Kahn has a prior arrest for receiving stolen property, a source said.
