WASHINGTON – Presidential front-runners Hillary Rodham Clinton and Rudy Giuliani easily lap their respective primary fields – but only Barack Obama comes close to catching “America’s Mayor” in a head-to-head matchup, a new poll shows.
Giuliani clings to a narrow 44 percent to 41 percent edge over the Illinois Senate rookie – within the Quinnipiac University poll’s 3-point error margin. Poll director Maurice Carroll said all Democratic candidates get 40 to 41 percent against Giuliani, “but Giuliani slips against Obama, making that the closest race – at least today.”
