It’s jails and sales – city officials want to double the size of the Brooklyn House of Detention and juxtapose it with stores and high-rise apartments.
The Economic Development Corp. yesterday asked for proposals from developers interested in building up to 238,500 square feet of commercial and residential space surrounding the Atlantic Avenue lockup.
The also calls for a 165,000 more space for the jail along with 27,000 square feet of retail.
