Solitary things

This coming Wednesday’s Xbox Live Arcade game is going to be something called “Soltrio Solitaire.” It’s a (quelle surprise) solitaire game. Well, a collection of 18 of them to be precise.

Sure, I bought into the whole “UNO” thing when it was launched. But Solitaire? Isn’t that the game you don’t really ever want to play, but end up playing because you’ve got nothing else in the world to do and have a deck of cards in your pocket? That you’re supposed to play when you’re alone? Solitary, if you will? Ehhhhh?

Anyway. I suppose the interesting thing about this XBLA game is that there’s co-op and competitive two-player game modes. In two-player mode, two games happen at the same time, with players sharing/fighting over the same foundation piles to win the game. Meanwhile, in co-op mode, players have to work together (they can pass cards to each other) to finish the game with the best score possible.

It’s available on May 16 and depletes your wallet of 800 Microsoft points.
