NYPD DAILY BLOTTER

Manhattan

A man ripped off a woman’s fingernail during a fight that began when she started snapping pictures in their Hell’s Kitchen apartment building, police sources said yesterday.

Jacoby Fenner, 66, clashed with the 56-year-old woman in the hallway of the building on West 43rd Street near Eighth Avenue at about 5 p.m. Friday, the sources said.

Fenner, who is black, allegedly shouted at the woman, “You white bitch. Nobody is afraid of you.”

Then he phoned the building’s security desk and allegedly stated, “The Caucasian is taking pictures again,” before yanking a camera the woman was holding out of her hand, cops said.

The camera strap around the woman’s wrist snapped, tearing off her fingernail, sources said.

Responding cops arrested Fenner on charges of robbery and assault.

He was not charged with a hate crime.

Police are hunting for a would-be thief who tried to rob a Midtown bank.

The 5-foot-6 suspect approached an employee sitting behind a desk in the lobby of the Washington Mutual branch on Seventh Avenue near West 37th Street at 11:20 a.m. Saturday.

He held up a note that read, “Give me the money. Just hurry up.”

The employee pushed a silent alarm, and the crook, sensing trouble, ran away empty-handed.

Only four days earlier, another suspect, Thomas Slator, 47, was arrested for allegedly robbing the same bank.

In that case, Slator allegedly made off with $1,000 after passing a demand note to a teller.

The two robberies are unrelated, authorities said.

Fed up, Novitsky rolled down his window and made a snarky remark, prompting Jones to bash him in the face with a ratchet handle, authorities said.

Novitsky underwent surgery at Lutheran Hospital, where doctors inserted a pin in his broken cheekbone.

Jones was busted Tuesday after Novitsky, 43, spotted him wearing an MTA hat as he emerged from the Stillwell Avenue station, sources said.

Jones was charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

The suspects slammed into another vehicle, triggering a five-car pile-up, police said.

Cops responded to that location, finding the man lying face up on the sidewalk.
