A vacation has kept me away from the blog for several days, but hopefully everything will be caught up by tonight. After giving you the Players of the Week from last week, here are the Pitcher of the Week winners. The ambidextrous Pat Venditte has been dominating so far this season, and that continued last week. In two appearances for Low-A Charleston, Venditte went 1-0 with a save, and over three scoreless innings he allowed only two hits and struck out seven without walking a batter.
For the Mets it was a St. Lucie sweep this week, as pitcher Scott Shaw joins shortstop Reese Havens as the choice this week. In his only start, Shaw picked up the win for St. Lucie, allowing one run on three hits in seven innings, striking out four and walking three.
