Bitter wine for ‘grifter’

She won’t be able to drown her sorrows in drink.

A Westchester woman could be forced to give up a cellar full of fine wine if she’s convicted of embezzling more than $40 million from the sandhogs union.

Melissa King, who worked as an administrator for the union, amassed a supply of more than 400 bottles of vintage vino while living a lavish lifestyle allegedly underwritten with stolen cash from Local 147, court papers show.

Manhattan federal prosecutors filed notice yesterday staking a potential forfeiture claim to the highly prized booze.

No value is given for the stash, but many of the bottles command princely sums, such as King’s five half-bottles of Chateau d’Yquem 2001.

Prosecutors have already frozen access to King’s collection, which is stored at a special warehouse in White Plains.

Defense lawyers didn’t return a request for comment.
