Andy Rooney, 92, insists that he is not retiring. A writer, he explains, never really stops being a writer.
Still, last night he delivered his final weekly essay on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”
“I wish I could do this forever,” he said. “I can’t.”
The commentary was his 1,097th in 33 years there.
“A writer’s job,” he said, “is to tell the truth.”
