CLEVELAND — A poll worker accused of trying to bite the nose off a voter at a Cleveland polling station has turned himself into authorities, WEWS-TV reported Wednesday.
James Williams, 53, of Cleveland, was awaiting felony assault charges for allegedly head-butting and attempting to bite Greg Flanagan on Election Day, Nov. 8.
Flanagan told police he had noticed Williams, a poll worker, arguing with a woman who was putting signs near the polling station.
Flanagan said he stepped into “help” the woman and that was when Williams “grabbed him around the neck, head butted him in between the eyes, then pulled his head close to him and tried to bite his nose off,” according to the police report.
Flanagan was treated at a local hospital.
The elections board said Williams will not be rehired.
