US stocks climbed to a five-month high yesterday. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 69.78 points, or 0.56 percent, at 12,462.47. The S&P 500 Index was up 11.38 points, or 0.89 percent, at 1,292.08. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 25.94 points, or 0.97 percent, at 2,702.50.
Fannie flight
Michael J. Williams, who was appointed to lead mortgage giant Fannie Mae in 2009 after the federal government seized it, announced he plans to step down as its CEO.
OJ uptick
US orange juice futures surged almost 11 percent to an all-time high on reports that discovery of small doses of unapproved fungicide in Brazil could crimp juice imports from there.
Fed funds
The US Federal Reserve turned $76.9 billion over to the U.S. Treasury last year, amid strong profits from its expanding portfolio of securities.

Yoga-wear retailer Lululemon Athletica rose 12 percent to $59.87 after saying fourth-quarter profit will exceed its forecast.
