An 11-block stretch of Delancey Street on the Lower East Side — ranked as one of the most dangerous spots for city pedestrians — is getting a slew of safety upgrades, officials announced yesterday.
Word of the improvements comes less than a month after a 12-year-old Juilliard hopeful was killed crossing nine lanes of traffic on Delancey and Clinton streets — the latest in a long line of tragedies.
Most of the changes should be in effect by summer.
