The Jets are bringing in free agent Drew Stanton for a visit Thursday and Friday as they search for a backup quarterback.
All indications are the Jets have prioritized Stanton and could make an offer. Broncos free agent Brady Quinn will also visit the team on Friday.
David Garrard could be an option the team explores.
Al Irby, Garrard’s agent, said his client is ready to work out for any team that calls.
“He’s going to play,” said Irby, who has fielded calls from teams asking if Garrard will be healthy. “There’s a lot of interest. He’s ready to take suitors as of today.”
Garrard sat out last season to rehab a back injury after the Jaguars released him in September. The New Jersey native is willing to be a backup, Irby said.
“There’s no team that he would not listen to,” Irby said. “He’s willing to listen to everything before he narrows it down.
“If the Jets want him, he’s available to work out.”

The Jets are also bringing in free agent wide receiver Chaz Schilens for a visit.

“He has size and is a vertical receiver. He has timed speed but you don’t always see it in his play. He has some durability concerns. Has had trouble staying healthy for a 16-game season. He’s a contributing player, but I hesitate to say he’s of a starter’s ilk.”
