Do not take today for granted. This is one of the two best sports days of the year. The other is tomorrow.
It is impossible to over-hype. It is consistently entertaining and involving. There are only varying levels of fantastic.
So today will be great no matter what. Let’s just see if we can make it a little bit better.
Connecticut (-1 1/2) over Iowa State: UConn has earned the benefit of the doubt when playing in the postseason. After demonstrating renewed focus in Big East Tournament with coach Jim Calhoun back, I have no choice but to ride the Huskies until they’re put to sleep. Besides, the Cyclones wouldn’t dare mess up an intriguing third-round matchup of the defending champions and No. 1 Kentucky.
Murray State (-4) over Colorado State: Maybe if the Racers went 30-1, they’d get more respect. Oh, they did? Well then, I don’t get it either.
Vanderbilt (-5 1/2) over Harvard: Before the brackets were released, the Crimson were a team that was going to have a chance to pull an upset — until they were matched up with the SEC Tournament champions. Coming off a win over Kentucky, the Commodores look like a team capable of making a run to the Final Four.
Record: 11-9
