Extinguisher tweets fan flames after Knicks injury

Amar’e Stoudemire’s fire extinguisher can do more than just douse flames and hurt $100 million forwards. It’s tweeting.

After Stoudemire injured his hand punching a fire extinguisher’s glass casing following the Knicks’ Game 2 loss to the Heat on Monday night, a Twitter account with the handle “AAAExtinguisher” (the “AAA” is for American Airlines Arena) was created.

The first tweets from the account — billed as having “more playoff wins in 2012 than the New York Knicks” — came late Monday night, one of which was, “Come at me, bro @amareisreal,” referring to Stoudemire’s Twitter handle.

The Extinguisher has been in rare form. After Stoudemire tweeted how he regretted his actions, the Extinguisher posted in response, “Where’s my apology?” When a Celtics fan weighed in on the incident, the Extinguisher tweeted, “I’m coming after [Rajon] Rondo next.”

As of 5 p.m. yesterday, the account had more than 1,500 followers.
