I don’t remember much of my Hillbilly Handfishin’ experience. Luckily, I have it on tape.
Was it embarrassing to watch? OMG, yes.
Was I nervous and excited to do it? My constant chatter speaks for itself.
If I occasionally seem uncooperative with Skipper and Jackson, forgive me. I was just trying to keep my face out of that disgusting, leech-infested, murky water.
When I finally caught that fish, I felt victorious. I won. And as difficult as it was to negotiate the mud and the water getting to the fish, once I grabbed it, I was practically floating on air — or muddy water.
When I came back to earth, I threw out everything I wore into the water.
If you ever get the chance to go handfishing, just be sure to wear three pairs of socks — rather than water shoes — and don’t wear anything you ever want to wear again.
