Boomer, Frank get ‘Real,’ will talk about cystic fibrosis

Boomer Esiason sits down with Frank Deford on Tuesday’s “Real Sports” (10 p.m./HBO and talk about being fathers of children afflicted with cystic fibrosis.

Deford’s daughter, Alex, died from the disease when she was 8 years old; Esiason’s son, Gunnar, was diagnosed in 1993 and is now 22 and a college graduate.

He, too, is interviewed. “As far as I’m concerned, I’m gonna live ’til I’m 95,” he says. “I have never once ever considered the possibility that there is a life expectancy with the disease.”
