James Brown has gotten the boot after a year as principal of Flushing HS.
The Post reported last September that the city Department of Education hired Brown after his former employer, the Baldwin, LI, school district paid $1.6 million to settle a claim that he bullied and harassed a female dean and made offensive sexual and racial comments.
“DOE officials were not informed of the lawsuit when they contacted the Baldwin school district for a recommendation,” a DOE spokesman repeated last week.
Brown, whose salary is $132,633, served as Flushing’s interim acting principal and “did not seek appointment to the permanent position,” said spokesman Will Mantell.
Brown remains on the payroll while seeking a permanent position, Mantell said.
