Cops nab suspected gunman in $2M Diamond District heist

The suspected gunman in last month’s Diamond District heist has been nabbed, authorities said Thursday.

Leon Fenner was captured in Maryland on Wednesday night and was scheduled to appear before a judge there on two counts of armed robbery, officials said.

Fenner was caught on surveillance camera dressed in a hat and overcoat as he strolled into Watch Standard Jewelry on West 47th Street on Nov. 11 at about 2:30 p.m., authorities said.

Fenner allegedly rang the bell and claimed to be delivering an item, sources said.

His alleged accomplice, Rondu Frisby, who was in the store at the time and knew the owner, buzzed him in, sources said. Frisby was arrested within a week of the heist.

Fenner allegedly pistol-whipped the jewelry-store owner’s father once inside.

He and another accomplice are believed to have taken about $600,000 worth of luxury watches and jewelry, authorities said.

The midday heist caused the evacuation of the entire block near the Veterans Day Parade on Fifth Avenue.

Cops matched Fenner’s fingerprints to those on an envelope the robber left behind, court records show.
