A man hanged himself as cops were breaking into his Queens apartment to stop an attack in which he shot two women Tuesday evening, police said.
The 65-year-old man shot a 54-year-old woman twice in the shoulder and a 34-year-old woman once in the arm, then barricaded himself in the Ridgewood apartment at about 6 p.m.
The women were rushed to Elmhurst Hospital after police got into the home.
The older woman was in critical condition from a bullet that went through her shoulder, a source said.
