Skateboarder fatally struck by Parks Department vehicle

A skateboarder was killed when he collided with a city Parks Department truck in Queens Sunday afternoon, cops said.

The 18-year-old was riding on the outskirts of Forest Park when he was hit by the truck at about 1:33 p.m. He was taken to Jamaica Medical Center but couldn’t be saved.

The teen was travelling south on Forest Parkway when he was hit by the city vehicle that was traveling west on Park Lane South, cops said.

The truck’s 37-year-old driver stayed on the scene. He wasn’t immediately charged.

Identification of the teenager was pending family notification.
