A Colin Kaepernick donation had Sarah Palin scrambling

Sarah Palin appeared to side with President Donald Trump Wednesday morning when an article bashing Colin Kaepernick’s $50,000 donation to Meals on Wheels was shared on her website.

The post, titled “SERIOUSLY? Colin Kaepernick Just Pulled ANOTHER Political Stunt,” has since been removed from SarahPalin.com, as well as from Palin’s Facebook page, according to TMZ. The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate reportedly had no involvement in the article’s release nor the critical comment on Facebook, which read, “And he wonders why he can’t find a job.”

Meals on Wheels, a group that provides food for seniors in need, thanked Kaepernick for his donation on Tuesday. The announcement came a day after Trump took a swipe at the former 49ers quarterback during a campaign-style rally in Kentucky by taking credit for the lack of suitors for the free agent.

Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of 49ers games last season as a protest of police treatment of minorities became a topic of national debate.

Meals on Wheels faces a sharp funding cut under Trump’s proposed budget.

Palin, who reportedly has her own ties to the philanthropic organization as a volunteer and donor, endorsed Trump in the run-up to November’s presidential election.

Kaepernick is also promoting a campaign to raise millions of dollars for drought relief in Somalia.
