Second contractor charged in 18-year-old hardhat’s death

A second contractor was hit with charges Monday related to the death of an 18-year-old hardhat.

Contractor Shulem Leifer lent his license to disgraced construction company owner Michael Weiss in order to secure permits for the Bedford-Stuyvesant worksite where Fernando Vanegaz was crushed to death in 2015, prosecutors said.

Weiss — who allegedly offered a $10,000 bribe to Leifer in exchange for his signature on official documents — was charged last week with manslaughter and other raps after repeatedly ignoring worker’s complaints that the site was unsafe.

Leifer was arraigned on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment before Brooklyn Supreme Court justice Danny Chun.

He was held on $25,000 bail and is slotted to return to court Aug . 8.
