Dad indicted for tossing baby’s corpse into the East River

The father who tossed his infant son’s corpse into the East River was indicted, prosecutors announced Friday.

James Currie’s appearance was waived for the brief hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court.

The heartless dad, who was arrested on one count of concealment of a corpse, allegedly dumped little Mason Saldona’s body Aug. 5 into the river.

A few hours later, a tourist pulled the lifeless 7-month-old, clad in only a diaper, from the water near Dover and South streets.

Currie fled to Bangkok, Thailand, and when he landed Aug. 8 allegedly texted the boy’s distraught mother, “You will never see [the victim] again,” according to court papers.

But authorities grabbed Currie before he could returned to the US.

It’s unclear when the child died, but authorities believe it was at some point after Currie took custody of him for a week visit beginning Aug. 4.
