Mother, 4 children dead in apparent murder-suicide: cops

Cops in Tennessee are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a mother and her four children — ages 7 to 16, according to reports.

Local authorities confirmed the probe, telling WTVF and other media outlets that five bodies were found inside a home on Monday night near Spring Hill, which is roughly 35 miles south of Nashville.

Maury County District Attorney Brent Cooper said the mother died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her children had all been shot.

According to WTVF, an older sibling found the bodies and called police.

The Maury County Sheriff’s Department is said to be investigating.
