Stepdad’s death after kick to the chest from 11-year-old ruled a homicide

The death of a terminally ill Bronx man who passed away after allegedly being kicked by his stepson has been ruled a homicide, the city’s Medical Examiner said Monday.

George Szkred, 52, went into cardiac arrest “due to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease” following an assault, the ME’s office said.

In other words, he had a heart attack that was prompted by the assault, a source familiar with the case told The Post.

“The person had a heart attack after already having heart disease and being assaulted,” said the source.

Szkred, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer, was arguing with the 11-year-old at their home in NYCHA’s Bailey Houses on Thursday when the boy kicked him, sources previously told The Post.

“He received a fair amount of abuse,” said the source.

“[Szkred] looked like they were beaten.”

Cops questioned the stepson Thursday, but later released the boy to his mom.
