Sam Beal is certain the Giants made a wise move giving up a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to select him in the 2018 supplemental draft.
“Oh yeah — they wouldn’t have been wrong if they got me in the first, promise you that,” Beal told The Post.
Beal, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound cornerback, enjoyed a triumphant return to the playing field Monday opposite Janoris Jenkins after missing all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
“I can be real good,” Beal said. “I’m gonna show that, too. … I’m different. I’m smart, I’m quick, and I’m fast at the same time. You can be quick, you can be fast, but I’m quick and I’m fast. And I’m a physical corner.”
And he wants the coaches to know he can play outside or in the slot.
“If they put me anywhere, I can play it,” Beal said. “I got range out the door. I can get sideline to sideline just as fast as anybody else.”
He impressed when he batted an Eli Manning pass on the sideline to Jabrill Peppers.
“I got real good eyes,” Beal said. “I can see how he’s looking. I was in the right place at the right time.”
