They’ll make a purr-fect pair.
A big-hearted Bronx cop plans on adopting a kitten that he and his partner found in a garbage can, the NYPD said in an online post.
Officers May and Massey responded to multiple 911 calls of an injured kitten abandoned in a garbage can, the NYPD’s official Instagram account posted on Sunday.
After being rescued, the kitty was rushed to Animal Care Centers of New York, where it’s currently recovering, according to the post.
Pictures posted by the NYPD show one of the officers playing with the kitten, affectionately poking his finger into the pussycat’s belly while the black-and-white kitty lies on its back with its paws in the air.
Another snap shows both officers, grinning ear to ear, holding the towel-swaddled feline.
Once it’s fully recovered, Officer May plans on bringing his new pet home, the post says.
