Tua Tagovailoa shocking NFL Draft 2020 experts even while he’s ‘social distancing’

One month before the 2020 NFL Draft, Tua Tagovailoa is making it easier for teams to envision him as their franchise quarterback.

The former Alabama star, who underwent hip surgery following a devastating season-ending injury in November, posted an encouraging video Monday, in which Tagovailoa demonstrated impressive movement, while making throws and practicing his footwork. Tagovailoa had been cleared for football-related activities, following a four-month checkup.

“Practicing social distancing with the long ball today. Feels good to spin it again. #Process,” Tagovailoa wrote on Twitter.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky said he was “shocked at how good” Tagovailoa looks already.

“I didn’t expect this kind video of @Tuaamann in March let alone him to look this normal and healthy. Very happy for him-teams questions are being answered 1 by 1…” the ESPN analyst tweeted.

Former NFL scout and current NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah agreed.

“Wow! Tua looks really good right now. Didn’t expect to see this so soon,” he tweeted.

Tagovailoa is widely projected to either be taken at No. 3 by the Lions or at No. 5 by the Dolphins despite dealing with a variety of injuries during his incredible run with the Crimson Tide, in which he won a national championship and was a Heisman runner-up.

The southpaw went 22-2 as a starter at Alabama, while throwing for 87 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 69.3 completion percentage.
