Josh Gordon submits latest NFL reinstatement letter to Roger Goodell

Wide receiver Josh Gordon, who has been suspended from the NFL six times since 2013, submitted his reinstatement letter to league commissioner Roger Goodell, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 30-year-old is reportedly hoping to be on a roster by NFL training camp, although he would be a free agent if reinstated.

Gordon, nicknamed “Flash”, was suspended indefinitely in December of 2019 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. He was conditionally reinstated in December of 2020 and was planning on practicing with the Seahawks in the final weeks of the regular season. But that did not happen, as his reinstatement was rescinded.

After leading the NFL in receiving yards in 2013, Gordon has struggled to stay on the field, playing just 33 regular season games. He has missed 79 games because of suspensions and last played in 2019.

The NFL has drug tested Gordon each of the last three months and he has passed all of them, according to ESPN.

The speedy wideout was last seen in the Fan Controlled Football league, catching passes from his former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.
