What will happen with Joey Gallo?

It feels as if the Gallo experiment is coming to an end. It’s difficult to continue playing an outfielder batting .164 who is relentlessly booed by fans. How much interest is there league-wide? When and if he is traded, will the Yankees simply slot in Matt Carpenter or try for an outfielder who’s a better fielder?

Will the Yankees chase Juan Soto?

The Post’s Jon Heyman has reported they at least will look into a trade for the Nationals superstar. The prospect cost would be unprecedented to add the slugger to an outfield that already includes Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

Can they fix Aroldis Chapman?

Since he returned from a six-week absence for left Achilles tendinitis, the lefty has lost his closer spot and his control, walking six in five innings while allowing four runs. If the Yankees can tap into the dominant reliever from years past, the back of the bullpen would become scary.

Will the rotation hold up?

Luis Severino pitched 18 big league innings from 2019-21; he has pitched 86 this season and now is out with a lat strain. Nestor Cortes already has surpassed his 2021 innings total. The rotation has been remarkably healthy, but concerns remain that will lead to a related question: How much will they push to trade for Luis Castillo, Frankie Montas and the other top available pitchers?

Will Aaron Judge catch Roger Maris?

Judge through 92 Yankees games: 33 home runs. Maris through 92 Yankees games in 1961: 36 home runs. Judge, who has played 89 games, is on pace for 58 dingers, which would be three shy of Maris’ AL (and Yankees) record. Will he play every game down the stretch to shoot for history?
