Marcus Williamson, a former cornerback at Ohio State, was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping in Tennessee after allegedly carjacking a woman and forcing her to withdraw money from an ATM machine.
According to an affidavit obtained by WBNS, a CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, a woman told Memphis police that she was kidnapped by an unknown man on Aug. 18. He allegedly stole the woman’s phone and wallet. From there, he was accused of ordering her to drive her car to an ATM machine, before returning her debit card and forcing her to withdraw $500. He then allegedly kicked her out of the vehicle and drove off with it.
Police discovered Williamson driving the woman’s vehicle the next day at a car wash. Before detaining him, they reportedly observed him throwing items into a trash can — items that belonged to the woman, as well as a hotel room key. In that hotel room, police found Williamson’s ID.

The victim identified Williamson out of a lineup of six people.
The 23-year-old Williamson played for Ohio State from 2017 through 2021, a stretch which included four Big Ten titles and two College Football Playoff berths. He left the team late in the season last year, and was critical of the coaching staff during the Rose Bowl between Ohio State and Utah on Jan. 1.
“Now that im a fan I gotta say… u fans kno nothing and have some of THE worst football IQ ever,” Williamson tweeted. “Almost as bad as some of these coaches.” He added three face-palm emojis.

In addition to aggravated battery and aggravated robbery, Williamson is charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence. He is set to appear in court on Sept. 7, and is currently being held on $80,000 bond.
